Beginning our work together.
Taking the first step is an act of courage—and just by being here, you've already started. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning to it, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I’ll guide you through each phase of the process with care and clarity.
-
Before we begin, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to help us determine whether we’re a good fit. This brief conversation gives us a chance to connect, talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, and address any questions you have about my approach. If it feels like a mutual match, we’ll schedule an initial session. If I believe another provider may be better suited to your needs, I’m happy to offer referrals
-
In our first few sessions, we’ll explore your current concerns, history, and goals through a collaborative clinical interview. If you're seeking psychedelic integration, we’ll also focus on your experience—past or upcoming—and define a clear, time-limited framework for our work.
-
Once your goals are clear, we’ll begin the work of therapy. For ongoing psychotherapy, this process unfolds at your pace, with space for skill-building, insight, and emotional healing. Psychedelic integration, by contrast, is typically shorter-term and focused on grounding meaningful change into daily life.
-
When it’s time to complete our work, we’ll approach the ending with care. This closing phase is a chance to reflect on your progress, honor your process, and explore your relationship with endings. Whether you’ve reached your goals or are transitioning into a new chapter, we’ll create a thoughtful and supportive conclusion.
Individual Therapy
At different points in life, we all hit places where we could use extra support — whether you’re adjusting to a major change, carrying grief or trauma, or wrestling with experiences that are hard to put into words. In therapy, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build tools to help you move forward. I believe that even painful emotions have something to tell us, and part of the work is learning how to listen without getting overwhelmed.
If you’re not sure exactly what you need yet, that’s okay — we can figure it out together during an initial consultation.
“At 68 years old I was a muddled personality of moods and behaviors, with distant traumas, triggers and addictions echoing in my psyche. Beginning the IFS journey with Dr. Holley quickly showed me how to recognize myself in that muddle, how to be with myself, to observe and acknowledge the parts of my personality. My personality is no longer a muddle. It’s gently organized…like a cozy campfire meeting with the many talented parts of me invited to sit as close to my Self as they crave, to share whatever they need me to know.”

Psychedelic Preparation and Integration Support
Harm Reduction and Meaning Making
Psychedelic experiences, when approached with intention, safety, and support, can be powerful catalysts for personal insight and transformation. Whether you are considering a legal psychedelic experience, such as ketamine-assisted therapy, participation in a clinical trial, or a retreat in a jurisdiction where psychedelics are legally available, or you have already had such an experience and are seeking support in making sense of it, I offer professional guidance in psychedelic preparation and integration.
Psychedelic
Integration
After a psychedelic experience, it can be helpful to have a supportive space to process insights, emotions, and shifts in perspective. Integration work focuses on making meaning of your experience, translating insights into lasting change, and navigating any lingering confusion or emotional residue. This work is often short-term and structured, grounded in mindfulness, self-compassion, and practical application. Our session may involve cognitive integration, emotional processing, somatic awareness, and taking action to apply new insights to your daily life.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines low-dose, clinician-prescribed ketamine with psychotherapy in a supportive, intentional setting. Ketamine is a legal, dissociative medication that, when used appropriately, can create a state of cognitive and emotional flexibility—opening space for insight, emotional release, and deeper therapeutic work.
KAP may be a good fit for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, or existential distress—especially when other approaches haven’t led to the shifts they’re seeking.
What KAP Looks Like in My Practice
We begin with a thoughtful evaluation of your mental health history, current needs, and goals. If ketamine seems appropriate, I’ll refer you to a trusted medical provider for a full evaluation and prescription. I’ll coordinate with them throughout the process to ensure your care is safe and well-supported.
Once cleared, our work will unfold in three stages:
Preparation
We’ll begin with 1–2 sessions focused on clarifying your intentions, preparing emotionally and practically, and developing grounding tools. This phase helps you enter the experience with clarity, safety, and support.
Dosing Sessions
Ketamine sessions take place in my office. You’ll self-administer a prescribed dose of sublingual ketamine, then relax in a comfortable setting with an eye mask and music. I’ll be present throughout to provide therapeutic support as you navigate your inner experience. Some people feel emotionally open or detached; others experience imagery, insights, or deep calm. Each journey is unique.
Integration
In the days or weeks following a dosing session, we’ll meet to reflect, explore meaning, and translate insights into everyday life. Integration is where real change takes root—this phase supports you in making use of what emerged, with compassion and clarity.
